Mountain Biking and Ancient Copper Mines in Timna Park, Israel · BKXC Edition
Timna Park has a great XC loop that weaves in and out of beautiful rock formations, amongst ancient Copper Mines and Ancient Cave Drawings! This loop is not technical, but it is fun and has a lot of really interesting scenery and history. There are a number of interesting stops along the way where you can learn about the history of Timna. Some of the common attractions are the Solomon Pillars, Chariot Rock Drawings, The Mushroom, and more!
Timna National Park is a 20-minute drive from Eilat and is a great trail to ride the day before or after the Raham Trail. You can park, buy a trail pass, and ride at the Timna Park Visitor Center. There is also a small lake and small restaurant with snacks and drinks along the route too. If you would like to stay next to Timna, one option is Kibbutz Elifaz, which has camping and lodges. Another interesting landmark in the area is "Hidden Lake Timna" just outside of the national park.
